One Desktop Runner install per computer
- In Conduit, open My Apps and choose Download Runner. Install it on the Windows computer where the desktop apps will run.
- Open it from the Windows Start Menu and sign in with the account receiving the app assignment.
- Keep Runner available in the Windows notification area. It syncs assigned Conduit-built apps and their updates in the background.
Runner installs the apps assigned to you, keeps them up to date, and reports how they’re running to Conduit. Use its notification-area menu to check status, sync apps, or open logs.
You do this once for the computer. Subsequent Conduit app assignments and updates use the same Runner connection. If your firm manages Windows software centrally, have IT include Runner in that setup.
Deploy a tested version
- Open the app in Conduit and go to Versions.
- Choose the version you tested.
- Select the teammates who need it, then deploy in one click.
- Check the deployment and installation status. Ask the first users to run a known example before widening access.
Creators manage builds and deployments. Viewers run assigned apps. Deploying an existing version does not spend generation credits.
For ACC, connect the account in Workspace settings first. In the deployment, select at least one ACC project and the teammates who should use the app. Confirm the selected projects and people before deploying.
Send an update or use an earlier version
Generate and test the next version, then deploy it to the intended teammates with one click. Desktop Runner keeps their assigned desktop apps current; ACC remains browser-hosted.
An older build stays in Versions. Select and deploy that version when you want users to run it again. Choosing an earlier software version does not undo changes that an app already made to model or project data.
Every app reports how it’s running, giving Conduit useful information for the next fix or update.
If a desktop app has not appeared
- Confirm the assignment. Check the app version and the teammate selected in Conduit.
- Confirm the signed-in account. Runner must be signed in as the person receiving that assignment.
- Check Runner status. Open it from the notification area and use its sync action. Check the reported installation state rather than assuming the assignment has already arrived.
- Check the host. Confirm the desktop application and version match the app you built.
If it still does not arrive, include the app version, host version, Runner status, and approximate time in a support request. Those details help distinguish an assignment problem from an installation or runtime problem.
